‘Back home’

My Downtime, Tour Diary

Hi folks

I haven’t blogged to you guys for quite a while… but it’s now time to start a new chapter and turn another page; it’s been a really challenging time for everyone in so many ways, so first of all I hope youre all safe and well!

For #TeamHanson, thankfully we’re all healthy – Isabel has just turned 1 and is an absolute superstar, and the eldest two are driving us insane as I’m sure most kids do, but really I’m lucky to have three great girls!

As for my golf, I’m turning back the clock… I’m delighted to say I have moved back to Crosland Heath Golf Club and will play my tournament golf as the attached professional going forwards.

A huge thank you must go to Woodsome Hall for their support over the last 8 years through Europro, Challenge Tour and three great seasons on the European Tour, but going back to the Heath feels like going home!

I spent 20 years as a member at Crosland Heath and my family are still up there, so it’s going to be great to spend my time back on the practice ground and around the club where I spent hour after hour growing up practising, playing and eating numerous cheese baguettes.

Not sure how many of you know, but congratulations must go to Ryan GrumbridgeRyan was recently appointed (24th Aug) the Head Professional at Crosland Heath, and I’m excited to say I will be working alongside Ryan as part of the coaching team at ‘The Academy’ CHGC.

I’m sure if you’ve been to the Heath, you will agree it’s quite possibly the best practice facility in the area first class short game area where you can play the full variety of shots, a full grass range where you can see the whole ball flight, and a teaching studio which allows for coaching all year round.

Between myself, Ryan and the team we will be covering all aspects of coaching, including on course playing lessons, course management and performance coaching where my main focus from my years of playing experience will be scoring, taking your range game to the course, and helping you get the most from your game by not leaving any shots out on the course.

We all look forward to welcoming you to Crosland Heath and ‘The Academy’.

As for my golf, I’ve certainly enjoyed playing again!

I’ve played a bit and also competed in a few of my own events on the 2020protour, along with a few pro/ams, shooting +1, -2, -3, and -3; considering that’s without any practice, I’m relatively happy and certainly feel that getting back out at Crosland Heath and spending some hours on the practice ground there will spark some fire for next season in whatever playing capacity that may be.

My playing options…

my Challenge Tour status from the 2020 season is rolled over 2021
European Tour Q-School will be back on the schedule for the end of 2021
Mini Tours and Europro Tour (UK)
Pro/Am trips across UK/Europe

I’m really looking forward to seeing many of you up at the Heath and also helping anyone who would like to take their game to the next level.

Take care and happy golfing!

Chris
